Because you care
So here is my latest running/gym update, because thesneakybandit wants to know, and because I know you all care ;-)
After doing 6km on Monday night I came home and collapsed on the sofa. Tuesday I did 4km, but at 10 speed on the treadmill, I also worked out my upper body and did all these sit ups - go me. Last night I was all prepared to run 5km on 10 speed but my body was having none of it. I did a good warm up and stretch but after 2km my legs were hurting so much - especially my ankles/knees - that I had to stop at 2.5kms. It was so frustrating as I had all this energy left that I just had to get rid of.
So I jumped on the cross trainer and did 35 mins on the highest resistance I could take. I swear I have never sweated so much in my life, but I was on fire. I couldn't go fast/hard enough. It was awesome. I got all these admiring stares from the tough guys that work out there too. Not admiring like "oh, she's hot" stares, but "yeah, girl can work, shes not here to mess around!" I was pretty proud.
I got home and made some dinner then couldn't move from the sofa. I really wanted to, but I physically couldn't get up. I finally, (after an hour of wanting to get up, but no energy) made it to the shower and then bed, but as I lay sprawled out like a flattened bug run over on the highway I realised that I may have over done it this week.
Woke up this morning in quite a bit of pain - but a good kind of pain, the kind where muscles you didn't know existed are telling you they hurt, and am now a little annoyed I've made plans to go out tonight... I want to go to the gym!

Welcome to the club...here we try to OD on endorphins all the time :)
And you know that leads to all sorts of other good stuff...I mean think about it...what's more fun than having a really good, sweaty workout on your own? :)
That energy has to go somewhere!!
