To the person/people in my building who have used my entire month's worth of peak internet usage in 5 days,
I hope you have enjoyed downloading whatever it is you have downloaded, and I hope you've had a good old laugh at being able to crack the password to my wireless connection. Contrary to what my provider tells me, the security on the password wasn't that high was it? Good luck with my next choice - random numbers.
You are rubbish. Get off your feral butt and go and get a job so you can afford your own internet connection, and will stop using mine.
You live in my building. I've probably seen you. No one who lives there is what you'd call super wealthy... so don't presume I have the means to support your internet habit.
Thanks for slowing my internet speed to that of a snail until the 3rd of November, now when it takes half an hour to load a page I'll think of you, and hope you are rotting.
Sincerely,
Tik
So here is the first announcement for the line up at the 2009 Big Day Out.
Not very impressive if you ask me. OK, OK, Neil Young is great - but at the Big Day Out? Not sure about that. At the Entertainment Centre where he's doing his side show - yes, amazing, I'll definitely go.
And the Prodigy??!!
Sorry, that does nothing for me. Perhaps back in 2000 I'd be all excited to see them, but now I have no interest in smacking my bitch up or being a fire starter.
Where are the Kings of Leon? MGMT? Hot Chip? or Santogold? or anyone else that released a decent record this year?
I'll tell you where (well, not where they are right now, because I don't know), spread out through so many other 'festivals' that are coming up - I'm not going to go and pay over $100 each time I want to see a band play - only to have to wade through piles of other garbage just to get to the end of the night and be surrounded by hundreds of YFC's (Young Fluro C***s) who have suddenly discovered that they now love Pnau/Midnight Juggernaughts (last year's Home Bake) and must, must, must push everyone out of the way to take their tops off and jump around banging into each other scaring the beejesus out of everyone around them.
Maybe I'm getting old, maybe I'm jaded, maybe I'm just not that cool anymore to appreciate that each of these different music festivals has their own genre and therefore bands will be attracted to play at different events. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for a good festival - and spend a lot of my time going to them and wasting money on anything and everything - but I "grew up" with this festival, have great memories from it and it usually attracts top headliners - so it's disappointing when you see a lineup thats as uninspiring as this...
Hopefully the second announcement of new bands is something to get excited about.
end rant.
